CHINESE PORTRAIT
tables for slide projector and projectors
variable dimensions
"Portrait Chinois" is part of a series of sculptures and installations inspired by the engraving of Albrecht Durer Melencolia I and have been shown for the soloshow "Made by melencolia", at ENSAD.
A “Chinese portrait” is a literary game, but it has also become a learning tool in marketing. Same to an advertising executive, I studied one by one all the symbols of Melencolia I and tried to find what would it be today with a cynical and humoristic eye.
All the images are ultra contemporary references but they already seems completely out-dated, broadcast on slide projectors from another era.
